So, what are our next steps for tag2find? After launching the first version of tag2find and receiving a lot of helpful feedback from users we decided to offer a download without subscription to make it easier for everyone to contribute.

In the meantime we designed the next generation of tag2find based on the world wide feedback and we also planned our network version which enables users to tag files on different PCs. This extended version will also include a network monitoring system for tagged files. It will increase productivity in workgroups. Here an example: Anna is working on a project with Tom. She is writing a report which she should hand to Tom once finished. Instead of telling him via email, telephone or at the next meeting, she tags the file with “projectname” and “report”. Tom uses the monitoring system of tag2find. He subscribes for those tags and as soon as Anna copies the file onto their shared folder, he will be automatically notified. Isn’t this a cool stuff?

For our next release we will again invite users from all around the world to join our testing program. But this time we would like to give something back to you. We plan to award users for their time they spend to improve tag2find. There will be little presents like t-shirt, polo shirts, etc. and we are also negotiating with a famous watch company to sponsor this program - see create your own watch face by laks.

Yes, we are back home from our USA trip which was wonderful. We had so much fun, met a lot of interesting people and loved the food

We traveled from LA to SF and were surprised about the interest in tag2find. We are already invited to SF for further talks which will take place in October. Maybe it will be a good time for tag2find …

Even if we still in a phase of technical preview we decided to offer tag2find without any registration. Now is easy to enjoy tag2find!! You just need to go to download and that is it! Once you’ve installed tag2find, start to create your own world of information and your way of organizing the information!

The next step is to offer the next generation of tag2find to primar testers so stay in contact with us checking our blog to be one of the first testers of the tag2find’s next generation. There will be a lot of surprises …

tag2find team had a very nice start of the week during their first wiilympics. The competition consisted in different categories (Bowling, tennis, baseball, boxing and golf) and we must admit that the final results were very equal, now let’s see what is going to happen in the second part of these Olympics

Here are some images from the new version.

Two days ago we silently released version 0.10.1.3 (download) to the public. It is just a very minor bug-fix release including several minor fixes for bugs that have been reported to us.

It seems that for some reason the update-notification could have caused a crash in versions prior to this one, so we recommend anyone to upgrade.

The 0.10.x series despite some usability issues is stable enough to be released to the “general public”. Therefore we have removed the requirement to subscribe in order to download tag2find. Please note, this is still a Technical Preview, there still are bugs and we still need you to get rid of them. Please help us make tag2find a better tool.

We are now working on an improved version of tag2find, regarding both user interface and functionality. This will take us some time but until then we will continue to support 0.10.x with bug-fix releases. The team is going to give you a glimpse of what is about to come in the next one or two weeks. Some information are already available from our “next-generation page” on our homepage. You are highly encouraged to comment on the new user-interface (either here or better in our forum).

We want to introduce you all a new member of the tag2find team… meet Afroditi! She has only been with us for almost one week and at the moment she is trying to adapt herself to the Austrian life style which is very different of Greek culture where she is from. I have to admit that I am so happy with her arrive because I am not the only girl in the office anymore and because she don’t speak German either so… sorry guys now you must speak more in English!

I’m sure she will write a post very soon telling us how she feel and what are her first impressions of everything, (don’t worry Afroditi you will have your briki soon ) we hope you will all give Afroditi a welcome to the tag2find family!

tag2find was one of the exhibitors at the tech2b Day 2007, an event which offers a view of new applications and technology projects of Austrian companies and gives a preview of how new technologies will affect our everyday life in the near future.
